With the release of iOS 26 Beta 2 on Monday, Apple has corrected one of the most intense problems with Liquid Glass, the user interface plan for the iPhone, iPad and other Apple devices, it announced earlier this month at WWDC 2025.
The updated user interface modernizes the appearance and sense of the operating system with a design system inspired by the visual properties of the glass, including the way it refracts its light and transparency.
However, early testers iOS 26, somewhat unjustly, rushed to highlight the defects with the updated appearance on the developer’s early beta. Although Beta Build is not yet complete, users share screenshots and critics where wet glass has soon fallen in terms of readability and usability.
One of the biggest concerns of users was with how the Liquid Glass made the control center (the menu that has access to the right side of the iPhone screen) is almost unreadable. Due to its unfinished nature, it was difficult to differentiate the buttons and slider of the icons and widgets on the home screen of the iPhone that appeared below.
In the recent traffic beta, Apple has encountered the problem with the control center, adjusting the background noise, which best conceals the contents of the original screen below.
Alerts in the first beta were also difficult to read, as many had pointed out. In informed beta, they are a little more intense, but they still need work, especially for readability in a bright and lighter background.
These are not likely not final adjustments, as iOS 26 does not start publicly until autumn. However, it is indications that Apple actively listens to the first comments of users and makes the bites accordingly.
Also on Beta 2Apple has added an accessibility section to the App Store product pages, enabled the iCloud SYNC for the Journaling application to iPads, added Order tracking features to Apple’s wallet, introduced an Apple Music radio Widget and much more.
