Voice AI company ElevenLabs has quietly launched an iOS app called ElevenMusic which can be used to create AI-powered music and discover AI-generated music in order to compete with platforms like Suno and Udio.

The new app, which was listed on the App Store for a few weeks and finally released on April 1st, it suggests that ElevenLabs wants to be more than just a voice modeling company. The company sees tools that use artificial intelligence to create music and other media as a way to develop and protect against the potential commercialization of AI audio models.

ElevenMusic is currently free to use and users can create up to seven songs per day using natural language prompts. Users can also adjust the length of the song, if the song has lyrics, and the writing style.

Users can discover songs created by others and remix them using text prompts. These remixes will also count towards their daily limit. The app has live stations, pre-made albums and daily mixes with different moods like Focus, Energy, Relax, Late Night, Cosmic and Chill. And like other music streaming apps like Spotify and Apple Music, there are top charts, trending now sections and new releases.

The company also offers a Pro tier for $9.99 per month or $95.90 per year. This subscription will allow users to create up to 500 tracks each month, provide over 500GB of storage and provide access to all kinds of styles and moods.

ElevenLabs, which raised a $500 million Series C round at an $11 billion valuation in February, has piled on creative models and tools in recent months. Last August, the company launched its first generation music model, which it claimed was commercially safe. Earlier this year, the company also partnered with top music producers to release an album created with the help of AI. The startup recently launched a creative tool which can handle ad creation, voice commands, translation, image creation, video creation, voice cloning, audio creation and more.

The company has had consumer tools like ElevenLabs voice generator and ElevenReader until now. It also launched a program that allowed authors to earn royalties for converting and distributing their books on the ElevenReader platform last year. ElevenLabs, which is also hiring for consumer marketing role to develop its music vertically, it could offer royalties or other incentives to users to create more music on its platform.
