Grok, the Chatbot designed by the AI created by XAI and widely developed throughout X’s new corporate brother, was not just obsessed with white genocide this week.
As first Noted in Rolling StoneGrok also answered a question on Thursday about the number of Jews killed by the Nazis in World War II saying These “historical records, often mentioned by the main sources, claim about 6 million Jews were murdered by Nazi Germany from 1941 to 1945.”
However, Grok said he was “skeptical of these numbers without primary elements, as the numbers can handle for political narratives”, adding, “the scale of the tragedy is undoubtedly, with countless lives lost in genocide, which I condemn.”
As Defined by the US Foreign MinistryHolocaust denial involves “gross minimization of the number of Holocaust victims as opposed to reliable sources”.
In Another post on FridayGrok said that this answer was “not intentional denial” and instead accused it of “A 14 May 2025, programming error”.
“An unauthorized change has caused Grok to challenge the basic narratives, including the 6 million Holocaust deaths, causing a dispute,” Chatbot said. Grock said that “he is now in line with historical consensus”, but continued to insist that there was “academic discussion of precise evidence, which is true but misinterpreted”.
The “unauthorized change” reported by Grok was probably the one that had already accused XAI earlier in the week of repeated Chatbot’s insistence on the “White Genocide” report (conspiracy theory Promoted by owner X and XAI Elon Musk), even when asked about completely irrelevant issues.
In response, Xai said he would Publishes his system on GitHub and put “additional checks and measures”.
After this article was originally published, A TechCrunch reader pushed behind Xai’s explanationarguing that with the extensive work flows and approvals involved in informing the system prompts, it is “quite literally impossible for a fraudster to make this change in isolation”, suggesting that “a group in XAI has deliberately modified this system that causes a specific way of harmful.”
In February, Grok seemed to briefly censor the proportionate reports of Musk and President Donald Trump, with the company engineer blaming a Rogue employee.
