Google Cloud announced On Thursday, it has added a rapidly growing newly established AI Lovable and Windsurf encoding businesses to its customers list. Both companies have chosen Google Cloud as one of the cloud computing providers, the latest sign of Google’s growing promotion against bigger opponents such as AWS and Microsoft Azure. Google Cloud tells TechCrunch that it handles a significant proportion of Lovable and Windsurf’s Cloud and AI workload today, although newly established businesses are not required to work mainly with Google.

The agreements also emphasize Google’s efforts to make clouds more central to the future of the company.

Today, Google Cloud is overshadowed by larger competitors such as AWS and Microsoft, as well as Google’s much larger advertising business. But he sees up the momentum.

Google Cloud is one of the fastest growing business lines of the company. During the last profit call, Google said the cloud section gave him an annual $ 50 billion run and the head of cloud Thomas Kurian said this week the unit lined up $ 58 billion in new revenue the next two years. Google created $ 43.2 billion in cloud services in 2024 and $ 33.1 billion in 2023.

The victory with the leading AI businesses seems to be a big Google Cloud growth lever. The department says it is now working with nine of the top 10 AI laboratories, including the safe superintelligence and Openai, and 60% of the world’s newly established AI. Last year, the company says it has seen a 20% increase in the number of new newly established businesses that choose Google Cloud.

While Lovable and Windsurf, recently acquired by knowledge, spends relatively little compared to the top AI laboratories or big businesses, the bet is that they will become bigger businesses in the future and is worth investing.

Google reports that the two newly established Vibe -encoding companies use Gemini 2.5 Pro to supply their products, which are also executed in the Google Cloud infrastructure. Google says Windsurf also uses Gemini models in integration with Cognition AI AI Devin.

In an interview with TechCrunch, Windsurf Managing Director Jeff Wang said that the start operates with a variety of cloud providers, including Google Cloud, but it is difficult to say which company it uses the most. Lovable refused to comment.

The significant cost of clouds of training, perfection and function of AI models presented a major challenge for AI model developers, including Google Deepmind with Gemini models. But it was a benefit for cloud businesses. The global cloud market is expected to exceed $ 400 billion In 2025 and increases at a rate of 20% over the next five years, according to the company’s Intelligence and Analytics company.

The company hosted its first Google Ai Builder forum on Thursday, in which it has collected hundreds of AI Startup founders and announced more than 40 new AI startups buildings on Google Cloud. In addition to Lovable and Windsurf, the AI plant and Andreessen Horowitz-Krea AI was among the customers called.

Part of the reason why so many newly established businesses work with Google Cloud are the generous offers it offers. Many of the newly established AI Google companies work with Google for the Cloud Nartups program, which offers $ 350,000 in cloud credits. Google Cloud also offers a special GPU Nvidia cluster for newly established businesses on the Accelerator Y Combinator.

UPDATE 9/19/25: This article has been informed to clarify the language around the term “primary cloud computing provider” and to include comments from Windsurf CEO. Neither Lovable nor Windsurf have signed a preferred cloud supply agreement, a conventional name that guarantees that the start is making a majority of their work with a single cloud provider.
