Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei is worried that Spies, probably from China, are taking their hands on “algorithmic secrets” from the US leading AI companies – and wants the US government to enter.
Speaking to Council on External Relationships event On Monday, Amodei said China is known for its “large -scale industrial espionage” and that AI companies like Anthropic are almost certainly targeted.
“Many of these algorithmic secrets, there are $ 100 million secrets that are some lines of code,” he said. “And, you know, I’m sure there are peoples trying to steal them and they can succeed.”
More help than the US government to defend its risk is “very important”, Amodei added, without specifying exactly what kind of help he would require.
The man refused to comment on TechCrunch in observations specifically but mentioned Anthropic’s recommendations at the White House Science and Technological Policy Office (OSTP) earlier this month.
In submission, Anthropic argues that the federal government will have to work with AI leaders to enhance security in Frontier AI Labs, including cooperation with US intelligence services and their allies.
Observations are in accordance with Amodei’s most critical attitude towards Chinese development AI. Amodei has call Strong US export controls to AI chips in China, saying Deepseek noted “the worst” in a critical data security test that Anthropic ran.
Amodei’s concerns, as he wrote in his essay ”Grace love engines“And elsewhere, it focuses on China using AI for authoritarian and military purposes.
This kind of attitude has led review From some in the AI community who argue that the US and China will have to work more, no less, on the AI in order to avoid an armaments race that leads to either a country to build a system so powerful that people cannot control it.
