(HSI) It has signed a $ 3 million contract with Forensics magnets, a company that makes a device and unlock called Graykey.

The contract, which appeared on Tuesday in a Database of the federal government, He said they were software licenses for HSI telephone technology “to recover digital data, process multiple devices and create forensic reports necessary to send national security and public protection”.

While the contract does not mention the name of the product, it is likely that Graykey, a forensic system to unlock smartphones and export data from them originally developed by Grayshift. Criminological magnet merged with Grayshift after an acquisition by the private share of Thoma Bravo in 2023.

In addition to this latest contract, the procurement database shows that Ice and HSI signed several other contracts with Magnet Forensics and IT partner Panamerica computers, including:

  • A subscription to Magnet Griffye Enterprise, a platform This collects, processes, organizes and analyzes data and evidence. The contract for HSI is worth $ 145,000 and was also signed on Tuesday.
  • Graykey Premier Software Renewal Licensed for “iOS and Android Extractions of Electronic Devices for law enforcement”, especially for HSI in Detroit, a $ 90,000 contract and was signed on September 5.
  • The purchase of Graykey software licenses to help HSI “recover digital data on multiple devices for exploratory work”, worth $ 57,000 and was signed on August 21.
  • A $ 12,000 contract for unspecified Magnet Forensics software licenses for HSI in Charlotte, signed on August 18.

Magnet criminology did not respond to TechCrunch’s request for comments.

An Ice spokesman acknowledged TechCrunch’s promotion, but did not comment on the press time. DHS did not respond to a request for comments.

ICE has an extensive arsenal of technological tools, including facial recognition software provided by ClearView AI, mobile phone software manufactured by Paragon and Palantir’s data analysis software to support the mass expulsion campaign.

Last year, Ice signed a contract with Magnet Forensics for Graykey, worth $ 5 million, As first mentioned by Forbes at that time. Graykey started in 2016 to compete with the most established UFED phone system, built by Israeli company Cellebrite.
