Louisiana’s Attorney General has filed a lawsuit against Robloxaccusing the platform of not applying basic security checks and making the site the “ideal place for pedophiles”.
The lawsuit, filed Thursday by Attorney General Liz Murrill, claims that Roblox “has and continues to facilitate the distribution of child sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of Louisiana children”. It also accuses the platform not to unfold basic security checks to protect children from predators and production to alert parents of dangers.
Roblox, which started in 2006, has 82 million daily active users. The treatment notes that 20% of these users are under 8 years of age, while another 20% are between ages 9 and 12.
“Due to Roblox’s lack of security protocols, it jeopardizes the safety of Louisiana children,” Murrill told a statement. “Roblox exceeds with harmful content and predators of children, as it prioritizes its development, revenue and profits for children’s safety.
According to treatment, adults can put as children in Roblox and children can bypass age requirements to access experiences for older users.
The trial points out several sexually clear experiences on the platform, including “Escape on Epstein Island”, “Diddy Party” and “Public Bathor Simulator Vibe”.
A Roblox spokesman said that while the company cannot comment on pending court disputes, the platform devotes “significant resources, including advanced technology and human moderation 24/7, to help detect and prevent inappropriate content and behavior, Safety standards and moderation can be less strict than ours. “

“While no system is perfect, Roblox has implemented strict technology and enforcement safeguards, including restrictions on the exchange of personal information, links and user sharing,” the spokesman said. “The security of our community is top priority.”
Last year, Roblox launched a series of safety measures to protect children on its platform, including a ban on users under the age of 13 from sending immediate messages. Measures were applied following reports that Roblox exposes new users in dangerous risks, such as care and explicit content.
Murrill’s lawsuit states that recent Roblox security measures were implemented very slowly and is inadequate.
The lawsuit seeks permanent suspension of relief, prohibiting the company from claiming that it has sufficient security characteristics from the exercise of any activity that would violate the Louisiana’s unfair commercial practices.
