Openai intends to finally integrate the AI, Sora video, directly to the popular Chatbot Consumer Consumer application, Chatgpt said, the company’s leaders said during a Friday office meeting on Discord.
Today, Sora is only available through a special web application that started in December, which allows users to access the AI video model with the same name to create up to 20 seconds of movie clips. However, Openai’s Sora product, Rohan Sahai, said the company plans to put Sora to more and expand what Sora can create.
Openai was initially settled in Sora in creative and video production studios during the months that led to December. Now, the company is making a more coordinated effort to expand the appeal of the AI video tool.
Sahai said Openai is actively working in a way to make Sora accessible to Chatgpt, marrying the two products, though he refused to offer a timetable. The Sora version that finally comes to Chatgpt may not offer the same level of control compared to Sora’s Web application, Sahai said, where users can edit and improve the shots together.
Openai can try to attract users to the chatgpt by letting them create Sora video from the chatbot. Sora’s placement in Chatgpt could also encourage users to upgrade Chatgpt’s Premium subscription levels, which can offer higher video creation limits.
One of the reasons why Openai started Sora as a separate web application was to maintain the simplicity of chatgpt, Sahai explained during office hours.
Since its launch, Openai has expanded the experience of Sora’s web, creating more ways for users to browse the community -produced videos. Sahai also said that Openai “would like to build” an autonomous mobile app for Sora, noting that the Sora team is actively looking for mobile engineers.
Openai aims to expand Sora’s generation potential to pictures.
Openai works on an AI image generator powered by Sora, Sahai said, confirming rumors of such a project. While Chatgpt already supports the production of images, powered by the Openai Dall-e 3 model, an image generator that is powered by Sora could potentially allow users to create photos that are more photorealistic.
Sahai added that Openai is also working on a new version of Sora Turbo, the model that currently feeds the Web Sora app.
