Roxa startup that develops autonomous artificial intelligence agents to boost sales productivity has raised a new round of funding that values the company at $1.2 billion, according to multiple sources.

The funding included a lead investment from returning backer General Catalyst, two of the people said. Rox and General Catalyst did not respond to TechCrunch’s request for comment.

At the time of the fundraising, which closed last year, Rox was projected to close in 2025 with $8 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), according to two people familiar with the deal.

In November 2024, Rox announced that it had raised a total of 50 million dollarsincluding a seed round led by Sequoia and a Series A round led by General Catalyst, with participation from GV.

Rox was founded in 2024 by former New Relic Chief Development Officer Ishan Mukherjee. Mukherjee joined New Relic after the 2010 acquisition of Pixie, a software tracking startup he co-founded.

The startup is positioning itself as an intelligent revenue operating system that connects to a company’s current software setup — from Salesforce to Zendesk — and deploys hundreds of AI agents. These agents track existing accounts, research prospects and update CRM software. By consolidating these functions, Rox aims to replace and streamline numerous fragmented software solutions currently used by sales teams.

“Rox’s unique AI agent system enhances the CRM experience,” GV investor Dave Munichiello wrote in a blog post in 2024 when announcing the Series A round. “These agents are constantly working in the background to monitor customer activity, identify potential risks and opportunities, and even recommend the best course of action.”

Rox’s competition spans several categories, including established revenue intelligence providers such as Gong and Clari, as well as AI sales development platforms such as 11x and Artisan. There’s also a steady stream of new AI-native, all-in-one CRM competitors entering the field, such as Monaco – a startup founded by Sam Blond, the former president of enterprise spend platform Brex – which launched last month.

According to Rox’s website, the company’s customers include Ramp, MongoDB and New Relic.
