It has been only six months since Snap released the fifth generation of glasses, AR glasses for developers and the company is already reinforcing its latest pair with new lenses and platform features.
Snap announced Monday That begins the ability to create lenses focused on GPS glasses, new hand watching capabilities and much more. Now, developers can manufacture lenses using GPS, GNSS (world satellite navigation system), compass header and custom locations, allowing them to access geographical data and create things like Walking AR lessons.
The information is mainly aimed at improving glasses -based experiences.
Snap presented some examples that use new features, such as Navigatar from Utopia Labs, which direct users with Snap tiles, showing shiny arrows to help portables reach their destinations.
Other new glasses platform features include the aforementioned hand watching capabilities that detect gestures and when a user has a phone in their hands. Snap also allows developers to easily add a leaderboard to their lenses for competition -focused experiences.
In addition, there is a new AR keyboard.
The glasses are currently accessible only through the Snap developer program, which costs $ 99 a month.
