Openai will soon start trying a way for business customers to connect applications such as Slack and Google Drive to Chatgpt.

Openai plans to start the Beta test a new feature called Contertors Chatgpt, according to a document aired by TechCrunch. Chatgpt fasteners will allow Chatgpt team subscribers to connect the Google Drive workplace and slack in the chatgpt so that Chatbot can answer questions that are updated by files, presentations, calculations and loose conversations on these accounts.

Openai plans to expand Chatgpt fasteners to other platforms, such as Microsoft SharePoint and Box in the future, according to the document.

“This will allow employees to use ChatGpt to easily use internal information similar to how they can use worldwide knowledge through tissue search,” the document said.

Chatgpt Connectors is Openai’s latest attempt to make chatgpt an essential part of business software tools. While some companies have expressed reservations About allowing Chatgpt to have access to sensitive business information, Others have embraced technology with open arms.

Chatgpt fasteners could persuade WARY executives to change their position-and present a tremendous challenge to AI business search platforms such as Glean.

Chatgpt Connectors, who start at Beta for Chatgpt team users, is powered by a Openai GPT-4O version that can improve its answers based on “Internal [company] Knowledge, ”according to the document. All users in a WORKSPACE TEAM participating workplace gain access to the model via Openai Chatgpt applications.

The customized GPT-4O model searches and “read” internal information probably on a question. To create a search index, Openai synchronizes a encrypted copy of the company’s files and conversations on Chatgpt servers, according to the document.

‘Additional relevant information which [sic] The model did not use it immediately is accessible by clicking the source button at the bottom of each response, “the document states.” When necessary, the model will respond immediately to a list of the results. “

Perhaps to assure customers that Chatgpt will not leak their private data, the document emphasizes that Slack and Google Drive rights are “fully respected” and “kept up to date”. For example, Chatgpt Connector synchronizes private channel members and driver file rights as well as list information.

Employees will not be able to discover content through Chatgpt that they cannot access Google Drive or Slack, according to the Openai document, and managers will be able to choose which slack channels and google drive files are synchronized. As a slight disadvantage, employees may receive “essentially different” answers to the same ChatGPT prompts, Openai told the document.

There are technical limits to what the Chatgpt link can access.

Pictures in the Google Drive files (eg Google Documents, Google slides, PDFs, word documents, PowerPoint presentations and simple text) are not supported, according to the document, which noted that the Chatgpt link can only “read” – not analyze – data on sheets and work books. Chatgpt Connector cannot recover loose DMS or group messages and will ignore messages from slack bots.

Companies wishing to participate in Chatgpt Connector Beta are invited to provide Openai 100 documents, computing sheets, presentations and/or channel conversations. The company said in the document that it would not train immediately, but may use it “as an influx for synthetic data production” that could be used in its training.

“No data will be used by Google Drive or Slack for training,” the document said.

Openai did not respond to multiple requests for comments.
