Streaming service and Maker Plex software increases its prices. The company announced on Wednesday its first price increase in a decade for the premium subscription service Plex passwhich offers Power users a variety of additional features, such as off -connection access, themes, material shifts and other advanced settings. The service will now cost $ 6.99 a month, from $ 4.99 before.
The annual costs will also increase to $ 69.99 from $ 39.99 and the PESSS Lifetime will be $ 249.99, from $ 119.99. Changes will come into force on April 29, giving Plex pass subscribers a few more weeks to lock Plex Plex with the cheapest rate before prices rise.
Along with these news, Plex has announced changes to remote reproduction for personal media, the removal of a “unlock mobile” end and the Plex Terms of Service Policy.
For the latter, the company stressed that it does not have and will not share or sell user data related to personal media, titles in the Media Library or the use of a personal multimedia server. However, new policies explain how the share of the user’s data by Plex has changed to include Plex activity, based on account visibility and user activity settings. It also clarifies how and why Plex shares or sells data, including its use for advertising purposes.
New policies will apply to those who create Plex account after Thursday. Existing users will be invited to consent to new terms later.
Meanwhile, Plex says that price changes will allow him to keep up with the increasing cost of supporting subscribers and those who use Plex to manage their personal media collections. This includes Plex’s plans for new features such as an upcoming completion with Media To bring his ratings and reviews that are addressed to parents to Plex Pass holders.
PLEX also works on a new web and mobile server management application and an open API for a server integration, a Blog notes.
These changes come after other paid flow services such as NonsenseSpotify, Hurrou; Disney+YouTube TV and others have repeatedly increased their own subscription rates.
Two other, smaller updates are also available to Plex users.
A ditch the one -off activation fee previously required to remove the release of one minute to continuous flow content from a Plex multimedia server on a mobile device on iOS or Android. When the new Mobile Plex experience starts on the mobile, the end will no longer be required.
Another change will make remote reproduction for personal media a feature paid instead of free. Referring to the need for “more resources”, Plex users will need to either upgrade to a Plex Pass subscription to use this feature or benefit from a new remote clock subscription, which is better for those who do not run their own server but want to transmit a family member or a friend. The new subscription could also appeal to those who do not need all the privileges that come with a complete Plex Pass subscription but want access to remote playback and choose features such as Skip Intro and Skip credits.
The Remote Watch Pass subscription will be available from April $ 29 for an introductory price of $ 1.99 per month or $ 19.99 per year.
“These changes have not been made slightly and we have spent a lot of time weighing the best path forward to ensure that we can continue to balance the value with a better personal multimedia experience for years to come,” the blog post said.
