Google launches a new experimental feature “Ai Mode” in the search that seems to be taking on popular services such as the Chatgpt search of Perplexity AI and Openai. The technological giant announced on Wednesday that the new feature is designed to allow users to ask for complex, multilevel questions and monitoring to dig deeper into a topic directly in Google search.

AI feature is released on Google One Ai Premium Subscribers starting this week and are accessible through Search laboratoriesGoogle’s experimental arm.

The function uses a customized version of Gemini 2.0 and is particularly useful for questions that need further exploration and comparisons thanks to advanced reasoning, thinking and multimodal abilities.

For example, you could ask: “What is the difference in sleep monitoring characteristics between a smart ring, smartwatch and tracking match?”

Then the AI feature can give you a detailed comparison of what each product offers, along with links with articles that pulls the information from. You could then ask a follow -up question, such as: “What happens to your heart rate during deep sleep?” To continue your search.

Google says that in the past it would take multiple questions to compare detailed choices or explore a new idea through traditional searches.

With AI, you can access web content, but also click on real -time sources such as knowledge graph, real world information and market data for billions of products.

“What we see in the test is that people are asking questions that are about twice as much as the traditional search question and they also follow and ask for tracking questions for a quarter of the year,” said Robby Stein, Vice President of the Product on Google Search, in an interview. “And so they really get to these perhaps tougher questions, those that need more front and rear, and we believe it creates an extensive opportunity to do more with Google Search, and that’s what we’re really excited about.”

Stein noted that as Google has released AI offenses, a feature that shows a snapshot of information at the top of the results page, it has heard that users want a way to get such answers powered by AI for even more searches, so the company introduces the AI function.

The AI feature works using a “Query Fan-Out” technique that issues multiple searches at the same time in multiple data sources to bring these results together in an easy understandable answer.

“The model has learned to prioritize actually and support what it says through information that can be verified and this is truly important and pay special attention to truly sensitive areas,” Stein said. “So this may be health, as an example, and wherever it is not certain, it could really respond to a list of web links and URLs, because this is more useful at the moment. It will do its best and will be very useful given the framework of the information available and how confident it can be. new and peak technology AI released.

Since this is an early experiment, Google notes that it will continue to improve user experience and expand functionality. For example, the company plans to make the experience more visual and also superficial information from a number of different sources, such as the content created by the user. Google teaches the model to determine when it will add a hyperlink to an answer (eg booking tickets) or when to prioritize the image or video (eg

Google One Ai Premium subscribers can access AI mode by selecting search laboratories and then entering a question on the search bar and utilize the “AI Mode” tab. Or they can be navigated directly to Google.com/aimode to gain access to mode. On the mobile, they can open the Google app and press the “Ai Mode” icon under the search line on the home screen.

As part of today’s announcement, Google has also shared that Gemini 2.0 began for AI reviews in the US, the company says AI offenses will now be able to help with tougher questions, starting with coding questions, advanced mathematics and multimodal. In addition, Google has announced that users no longer need to connect to access AI’s reviews and the feature is now available to adolescent users.
