Message Application Signal announced On Monday that it introduces a feature that allows users to support their text conversations for free, along with the last 45 days of the media. It is also debut of its first feature, offering full backup with up to 100GB of storage.
Historically, the message application did not let users store any kind of backups of your talks on the platform. This could be particularly annoying if you lost or broken your phone. While you could transfer conversations from one phone to another, there was no cloud backup in place. The new feature ultimately resolves this problem, signaling a more valuable application for secure messaging.
Signal’s free grade gives users 100MB of storage space for text messages and 45 days. The company said in its blog post that it was storing messages after compression and 100MB would be sufficient for the “still heavy” users.
For users who want to store beyond the last 45 days of the media, the company offers $ 1.99 a month paid 100GB of storage plan.

This is Signal’s first feature, and the company said it charges users to help with the cost of storage in a way of keeping privacy.
You can enable the backup ability from the application settings, which will begin to back up your content daily.
Signal uses zero knowledge technology to secure its backups, so they are not connected to a particular user or a specific payment method. Users will receive a 64 -character recovery key created on the device to unlock their backups. In the midst of signal opponents, WhatsApp offers end -to -end backup through an optional function that users must activate.
