The credit report giant has revealed data breach that affects more than 4.4 million customer personal information.

To one Deposit with Maine’s Attorney General Office On Thursday, Transunion attributed the July 28th breach of unauthorized access to a third -party application that stores customer personal data for US consumer support businesses.

Transunion claimed that “they did not have access to credit information”, but did not provide immediate information on its claim. The notice of data breach did not specify which specific types of personal data have been stolen.

In Separate Data Breaching Disclosure It was later registered on Thursday with the Office of the Attorney General of Texas, Transunion confirmed that stolen personal information includes customer names, birth dates and social security numbers.

When achieved by TechCrunch, Transunion spokesman Jon Buildin would not answer questions about the company’s data breach or will say what types of personal information information has been taken.

Transunion is one of the largest credit reference organizations in the United States and saves the Economic data of more than 260 million Americans. It is the last corporate giant of the US that has been disturbed in recent weeks after a wave of almonds aimed at insurance, retail and transport and air industries.

Several companies, including Google, the Allianz Life Insurance Giant, Cisco and HR Giant Workday, reported data of data from customer data stored in the cloud databases hosted by Salesforce. After its breach, Google attributed the hacks to a group of blackmail known as Shinyhunters.

It is not clear who is behind the violation of Transunion, or if the hackers asked for any reason for the company.
