Google has confirmed that the information of some customers has been stolen in a recent breach of one of its databases.
In a blog post Late on Tuesday, Google Threat Intelligence Group said that one of the SalesForce database systems used to store communication information and relevant notes for small and medium -sized enterprises, was violated by a hacking group known as Shinyhunters, officially described as UNC6040.
“The data recovered by the actor threat were limited to basic and largely available business information, such as business names and contact data,” the company said.
Google did not reveal how many customers are affected and Google Mark Karayan’s spokesman refused to comment beyond the company’s blog post. It is not clear whether the company has received any communication, such as the demand for ransom.
Shinyhunters is known for targeting large companies and cloud -based databases.
This is the last one in a series of violations targeted by Cloud SalesForce systems, after recent Cisco Customer Data Clop retail giant Pandoraamong other things, as Reported by Bleping Computer PC. According to the Google blog post, the Shinyhunters group is based on vocal fisherman techniques to deceive the company’s employees to grant them access to cloud -based SalesForce databases.
