LocketThe photo sharing application that allows users to share images with friends who then appear on the screens of their home as widgets, want to stay on your radar and attract celebrities.

When it started in 2022, the Locket appeared as a Bereal competitor, offering a more authentic way of connecting to others. The app places a graphic item on the iPhone Home screens that are updated with the latest pictures added by friends. Users can choose up to 20 close friends, creating a familiar space to share non -filtered themselves and updates on their lives.

The application claims to have over 80 million total shooting and more than 9 million daily active users and its users have shared more than 10 billion photos to date. Specifically, the company also shared with TechCrunch that it achieved profitability in 2024, a significant achievement, given the relatively mitiginal efforts of raising capital of only $ 12.5 million.

To drive additional growth, Locket is quietly testing a feature called “Locketes Celebrity” for the last six months, which has officially announced the application on Wednesday.

The Celebrity Lockets focus mainly on music artists, letting them take part with the fans, sharing details of upcoming shows, new album releases and other news. Locket has already tried this feature with Aquifer and Jvkewith more artists being announced soon.

To use the feature, celebrities can share a link to social media platforms or their fans can search them in the app to add them and can then send photos directly to their fans’ screens.

“With the positions that go straight to the fans’ screens, it offers the kind of immediacy and intimacy that other platforms cannot be reproduced, turning passive followers into active participants,” founder Matt Moss told Techcrunch.

Locket allows artists to choose a number of fans to connect, ranging from 1,000 to 15,000 sockets. For example, Suki has 5,000 fans in the application and helped the Locket attract hundreds of new members. According to the company, 17% of these 5,000 fans were young in Locket.

“Fans feel special knowing that they are one of the few thousand and not just with another fan.

Although Moss says the feedback from the testers was good, it is not clear if this will help Locket increase users. Bereal attempted something similar to a feature called “RealPeople” but the reception was not completely positive, with some people Saying they preferred the application of antisocial means as a way to escape celebrities.
