Amazon Reveals A New And Improved Alexa, Alexa+

At an event in New York on Wednesday, Amazon has announced an upgraded Alexa – Alexa+ – -powered experience with AI genetic technologies. On the stage, the head of the devices and services of Amazon Panos Panay described it as a “complete review” of the AI assistant.

“While Alexa’s vision was ambitious and remains incredibly imperative, until the right time – at the moment – we have been limited by technology,” Panay said. “An Ai Chatbot alone does not lead us to our vision for Alexa.”

Amazon says the new Alexa can answer questions like “how many books have they read this year?”, Drawing information from Amazon’s client’s account. It can alert users when, for example, new tickets for a falling concert and help with some tasks such as dinner reservation.

‘New Alexa knows almost [everything] In your life – your program, your smart home, your preferences, the devices you are using, the people you are connected [to and] Your entertainment [enjoy]“Panay said.

Like other market assistants, upgraded Alexa has a visual understanding. Through the camera of a device, it can swallow a video feed and answer questions, taking into account what is happening in the video.

Panay says that improved Alexa can understand the tone and the environment around it and adjust its answers on the go. “He has been trained in some different ways, from eq to humor to understanding,” he added. “He understands that I’m a little nervous, he tries to calm me down.”

In addition to work such as creating quiz from study drivers and creating basic travel routes, Alexa+ can respond to questions such as “which is the best pizza nearby?” The answers are informed by what is in Alexa’s memory and the preferences that Alexa noted over time.

There is also a visual element in the new Alexa. In Amazon’s Echo Smart Esplays exhibitions, Alexa+ Powers Gallery and other personalized content flows. A new “For You” table shows timely updates based on a user’s interests, in addition to widgets such as smart home controls.

Obviously, Alexa+ is tightly integrated with Amazon’s wider smart ecosystem. Users can say a command to play Alexa music from Amazon Music in a supported smart device connected to the same Wi-Fi network or have a Fire TV device to skip a specific scene in a movie or TV show.

Alexa+ can also summarize the plans from the ring security cameras, describing what is happening in a scene and pulling specific moments. “It’s your virtual security guard,” Panay said.

Amazon places the new Alexa as not only a general -purpose assistant, but a serious productivity tool. Users can upload files and documents (plus emails) and Alexa will be able to analyze and report to them in the future, according to the company.

For example, a user could say something like, “we promoted a work program, are there any interesting events I need to know?” And Alexa will point out the basics in the document. But Amazon has not yet shared the details of how users will send Alexa such files.

In addition to mere reading files, Alexa+ can take specific actions in these files. May add text from a document to a diary, for example, and create a reminder of information found within a specific document or email.

Of course, AI is an infamous hallucinogenic. Amazon claims that Alexa+ is accurate and reliable, but we should see if these claims are maintained when the new experience begins later this year.
