On Wednesday, Amazon announced the launch of its new Fire TV Stick HD and Ember Artline TVs, now available for pre-order.

Following the initial release of the first-generation Fire TV Stick HD two years ago, Amazon has created a new model that’s the thinnest streaming device to date, the company says. Launched in 2024, the Fire TV Stick HD served as an entry-level device, effectively replacing both the previous Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick Lite. This approach aimed to simplify Amazon’s range of Fire TV streaming devices by consolidating two entry-level options into one.

The new model is about 30% thinner than the previous one, which could appeal to customers looking for portability without compromising on performance.

Additionally, the Fire TV Stick HD is said to run around 30% faster, which should help apps load faster. It also comes equipped with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 for enhanced connectivity.

A key feature of the Fire TV Stick HD is Alexa+, Amazon’s AI assistant. Users in the US, Canada and the UK can request information on actors, find new shows and manage smart home devices using AI-powered voice commands.

Amazon is also introducing a new “Adaptive Display” setting for the HD model, designed to improve accessibility by making text, menus and content more visible and easier to navigate. The feature will increase the size of smaller elements like text and menus, while scaling the artwork so everything is more balanced. Customers can choose from different size options to customize their viewing experience. That will roll out in the coming months, Amazon says.

The Fire TV Stick HD costs $34.99 and is currently available for pre-order. It is scheduled to ship on April 29 in Canada, Mexico, the US, the UK, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

In addition to the Fire TV Stick HD, Amazon has opened pre-orders for its Ember Artline TVs, which are designed to compete with Samsung’s Frame TV. First unveiled at CES 2026, these TVs focus primarily on aesthetics and functionality.

One of the standout features of the range is the choice of 10 different edge-snapping magnetic frames, available in colors such as Walnut, Ash, Teak, Black Oak, Matt White, Midnight Blue, Fig, Pale Gold, Graphite and Silver, making it easy to coordinate with home decor.

Notably, Ember Artline also includes an AI feature known as “Match the Room,” which helps users select artwork that complements their TV environment. Users can choose from over 2,000 free artworks and connect their TVs to Amazon Photos for an even wider selection of images.

Like the Fire TV Stick HD, Ember Artline TVs use Alexa+, enabling voice commands to search for content and control playback.

This month, Amazon is rolling out a new feature for US customers that simplifies transferring content between Fire TV devices. Users can ask Assistant to move a TV show or sports game from one Fire TV device to another. The company says the feature will initially roll out to Prime Video and expand to more services over time.

Ember Artline TVs feature a slim 1.5-inch profile and a 4K QLED display with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. They are available in 55-inch and 65-inch sizes, starting at $899.99. The TVs are now available for pre-order, with shipments starting on April 22 in the US and Canada, followed by the UK and Germany.
