Endor Labs, which create tools for scanning the AI code for vulnerabilities, lands $ 93 million

The code produced by AI undoubtedly changes the way the software is manufactured, but also introduces new security challenges. More than 50% of organisms face security issues with the code produced by AI sometimes or often, according to the end of 2023 Research by SYNK SYNK programmer security platform.

For Endor workshopsThis opportunity proved to be quite tempting to choose to change the course a bit. Endor has started helping companies to secure open source packages – in fact, even set a series of $ 70 million in a round just two years ago to increase the programmers governing service.

But the co-founders of the start, Varun Badhwar and Dimitri Stiliadis, saw increasing demand elsewhere, fighting and fighting vulnerabilities to the growing masses of the code that engineers use AI to create and refine.

Today, Endor executes a platform that, he claims, not only can review the code and identify the dangers, but also recommend “accurate” corrections and automatically apply them. The company offers a plug-in for AI-powered programming tools, such as Corsor and Github Copilot that scans the code as it is written and flags.

The axis could prove to be a wise choice. On Wednesday, Endor announced that it was closing a $ 93 million B $ 93 million round, led by DFJ Growth, with the participation of Salesforce Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Coatue, Dell Technologies Capital, Section 32 and Citi Ventures.

Badhwar (CEO) said the round is worth the endor in “higher ranks” than the valuation of Series A. The revenue will be used to expand the Endor platform, he added. Series B brings the overall chapter of starting to $ 163 million.

“This new round is going to continue to deliver, even in a harder macroeconomic environment than similar companies they faced five to 10 years ago,” Badhwar told TechCrunch. “We have lifted now because we are seeing a strong momentum – 30x annual repetitive increase in revenue from 2023 Series – and this allows us to double the delivery of results for our customers.”

Several months ago, Endor launched a tool designed to help organizations identify models and AI services integrate with their codebase and evaluate security defects. The idea is to provide better supervision as AI programming tools multiply, Badhwar said.

Endor says it now protects more than 5 million applications and lasts over a million scans each week for customers, such as Openai, Rubrik, Peloton, Snowflake, Egnyte and Dropbox.

“We got out of secrecy in October 2022 – right as interest rates have increased – and we have seen a strong attraction since then,” Badhwar said.

Ramin Sayar, a business partner at DFJ Growth, said his company invested because Endor was in the right place at the right time.

“As AI coding practices transform, developers create huge amounts of code without thorough visibility and control,” Sayar told TechCrunch. “Endor Labs doesn’t just set a new standard in application security – the team creates a move by starting their extensive platform.”

Endor currently has 133 employees concentrated in its Palo Alto offices and Bangalore.
