Just weeks after Google said it would review diversity, equity and inclusion programs, the Google for Startups Founders Funders is full of changes. Specifically, Google is now using the past to describe all the fund’s programs for under -registered founders.

This is a change made after December, according to the internet files. And the site is currently stating that there are zero capital programs available.

The Google Founder Fund began in 2020 to provide monetary grants, guidance and support for newly established businesses with under -registered founders, including women and those from African and Latin.

The site says it has given more than $ 50 million to support more than 600 founders. In addition to chapter, the founders received products guidance and support, such as Google Cloud credits.

But the grant landscape – especially in terms of minorities targeting programs – changed a lot since 2020. Some founders and investors who spoke to TechCrunch wondered what would happen to grant programs such as Funder Funders Google Startups, amid wild policies and legal attacks.

The programs listed as “past” chapters on this site are now included by the Women’s Fund, the Latino Fund Fund, the Ukrainian Support Fund, the Black Founders Fund US and the Black Founders Fund Brazil.

In addition, the site states that the “zero” grant programs are currently available in any area, although programs that train founders in AI products and American accelerators for newly established businesses in some industries (energy and climate) accept applications.

It is not clear which of these programs are officially finished, suspended or restructured in other ways. Google’s response when asked about their situation was unclear, but implied that the focus was removed from the under -supplemented founders and to the newly established businesses.

“We have not yet opened US applications for Google for the capital of newly established businesses in 2025. Google for newly established businesses supports all previous groups of capital founders in our graduates community. In 2025, we will invest in new AI companies in the US and share more details later.”

Google is moving away from another language

TechCrunch observed other changes in the language of the websites of this program.

In December the site specifically He said the grants “provided more than $ 50 million to support the underpinning founders” while today The word “underpinning” has been removed.

A archived page From January 21, it shows that Google has used to describe the purpose of the program as “financial support for under -registered communities” and “to assist under -deprecated and founders who are at risk of building and developing their businesses”.

The moment, Google says the program It provides “financial support for innovative”, and practical support “to help the founders build and develop their businesses”.

Google did not respond to our request for comments about changing the language on the site.

Last month, Google and other technological giants, such as Meta and Amazon, began to adapt their formulation and activities to the Dei, as Trump’s administration puts pressure on the public and private sectors to restore such programs. Google announced earlier this month would no longer have a diversity targets and also removed Dei’s report on 10-K annual deposit.

Opponent Reported this week That companies that have been publicly distanced from the Dei have done the opposite of private, revealing the sensitive balance companies they are facing today as they seek to avoid Dei’s legal challenges.

At the same time, US grant programs aimed at specific departments of underpinning communities have been attacked for a while. The Fearless Fund had to settle a lawsuit for the grant program for black women’s founders and closed the program in September. PayPal is also a lawsuit for its commitment to commit the grant to Black and Latino founders for allegations that it distinguishes other matches.
