Iphone 17 Pro Max Review: Orange I'm Glad The Battery

When Apple announced the slim and light air of the iPhone, some people said, “Who asked for a thinner phone?” Moments later, the company went in the other direction and announced a slightly thicker and bulkier iPhone 17 Pro Lineup.

With this, Apple did what these people wanted: he made a phone with a thicker factor to accommodate a larger battery, leading to better performance. From the new iPhones, Pro phones received more repetitive updates (unless you count the new orange color). But people who buy these phones will still reap the benefits.

The construction

The first thing you will notice with the iPhone 17 Pro is the new Unibody Build with aluminum, along with a new backpack design of the Magsafe -based accessories underneath. I am used to beating the Camera Camera like this on Pixel 10, so I don’t mind the new Apple design option.

Apple said the use of this plan has made the phone more durable. But it has also made the 17 Pro max heavier at 233 grams compared to the 227 grams of the iPhone 16 Pro max. I felt a little bit more about the phone’s hit, as juggling between the extremely lightweight iPhone Air and the 17 Pro max.

The company added the ceramic shield 2 to the front and the first generation ceramic shield to the rear, under the camera plateau. I had destroyed the back of my old iPhone 15 Pro max, which just had a layer of glass with texture, so I appreciate the additional protection along with the aluminum frame on the back.

I can’t wrap the construction section without talking about colors. I have a silver unit that I think is the most boring color of the three. Personally I like blue much more, and it doesn’t matter the orange, which is clearly distinguished. I usually use my new phone without a case but I intend to try the new Techwoven Blue case with a custom 100% recycled polyester yarn to change the look of the phone.

And while I have seen many seats and video On how the back of the new device is prone to scratches, I have not noticed many in my unit so far.

Better battery, better performance

Apple has managed to fill more battery on the iPhone 17 Pro max thanks to Unibody’s design. I consistently got more than five hours of screen time, despite the changing use. In terms of huge numbers, the 17 Pro max packages a 4,823 mAh battery compared to 4,685 mAh on the iPhone 16 Pro max. If you hit a version for ESIM only in countries where it is available, you will have an even larger 5,088 mAh battery, which can last a little longer than the device with the natural SIM.

The new design also brings the cooling of the vapor chamber to the iPhones, which means that your phone will get less hot while doing task tasks such as gambling. I played War thunder At 60 fps for a long time, and compared to the iPhone Air, the Pro max ran much cooler.

Small upgrades you will appreciate

Another strong upgrade in the battery section is the increased charge capacity.

The phone is compatible with USB-PD 3.2 standards. Although it does not reach the 100W+ load capabilities of some of the Chinese manufacturers, the new iPhone can theoretically charge 40W compared to 30W. This means that you can Charge your phone Much faster when using 40W or higher adapter.

The larger phone also acquired support for a higher speed wireless charging, based on Qi2. If you have an auxiliary station in your wireless work office, this new top iPhone may benefit from it.

The size of the iPhone 17 Pro max screen is the same as last year’s Pro max. But the screen gets an upgrade as it can achieve a maximum brightness of 3,000 nit. It also has a new anti-radical coating, making it easier to use in brighter conditions. In addition to the iPhone, the brightest screens were a trend this year with smartphones such as the Pixel 10 Series and the Honor V5 Magic and is a welcome addition.

Some of the review videos show that other devices, such as the Samsung Galaxy S25, have a better reflex on the screen, however.

Let’s talk cameras

The Pro iPhone models received two notable camera updates this year.

First, all three rear cameras now have a 48-megapixel sensor. Ultrawide was upgraded last year, and this year, it is the lens of the telephoto to get a boost. (As someone who has three pets in the household, I always appreciate that they have better growth potential so that I can take honest photos without moving, which can lead to a lost attitude.)

Until last year, Pro Max had 2x and 5x zoom options. This year, the company changed its focal lengths a little. So now you get 2x, 4x and 8x (which is a 2x cultivation). You may lose some details in an 8x shot, but the photos are generally good even at this zoom level.

Phones such as the Pixel 10 series, the Xiaomi 15t Pro and the Honor Magic V5 offer digital zoom grow with genetic AI to artificially improve the image. But Apple simply offers a 40x digital zoom without genetic treatment. The results are nothing to write home, as the images are noisy and have no details.

While Telephoto is a Pro-Only update, all iPhones got a selfie camera upgrade with a new 18-megapixel square sensor. In addition to the upgraded analysis, the front camera gets a Characteristicwhich automatically enlarges and exits and changes the orientation based on the number of people in the frame – without having to do so by hand. (This is very useful in the festive season in India when you meet friends and people who want to be in the box!)

Apple gave intelligence

Despite fine upgrades to the material, Apple Intelligence was almost not mentioned as part of the release of new iPhones. This was a contrast compared to last year, as well as the opponent’s phone starts like Google’s new Pixel series.

The device will receive iOS 26 features, such as the use of the full screen as a box to ask ChatGPT or Google questions about what is on the screen. But there are no new AP-Native AI features.

The new Pro iPhones are also fueled by A19 Pro chips, which are better nervous performance, says Apple. This could come useful for developers used by Apple’s local AI models. But we may have to wait for the next year’s world developer conference to see if Apple gives Siri a very expected AI upgrade.

For whom is this iPhone?

For recent years, Apple has placed the pro Lines of its phones to help the creative process more, except to be top devices in its composition. With the iPhone 17 Pro max, this is even more the case.

With new design, battery and thermal performance, creators can shoot larger videos. In addition, the company introduced new features such as Prores Raw and Log 2. It also has kindwhich allows creators to use multiple iPhones to get shots locked over time.

If you are not a creator, the iPhone 17 Pro max is more repetitive update. Just like many new phone releases each year, it doesn’t shout that you have to update. If your phone is over two years old, however, you will see significant profits in all sections, including battery life, performance, screen and camera. But if you have bought a phone after the release of the iPhone 15 Pro, there is not much reason to update.
