Openai has landed on a new hardware partner.
The AI Research Laboratory announced Monday created a collaboration with Semiconductor Broadcom For the customized AI accelerator of 10 gigawatts. These AI Accelera Shelves will be developed in OpenAI Data Centers and Partner Data Centers starting in 2026 and will last until 2029.
“By designing its own chips and systems, Openai can incorporate what it has learned from the development of models and transformation models directly into the material, unlocking new levels of ability and intelligence,” the company said in a press release.
While the terms of the agreement were not disclosed, financial times appreciated it could cost Openai about $ 350 billion to $ 500 billion.
This is only the latest infrastructure agreement for Openai in recent weeks.
Last week, Openai announced that it is buying six six gigawatts from AMD chips in a deal worth a tens of billions of dollars. In September, Nvidia announced that it is investing $ 100 billion in Openai along with a letter of intentions on Openai to use the 10 Gigawatts Nvidia material.
Openai also signed a historic $ 300 billion infrastructure agreement with Oracle in September. None of the companies has confirmed the agreement.
