Openai releases GPT-4.1 and GPT-4.1 mini AI models in Chatgpt, the company announced to a Post in x Wednesday.

GPT-4.1 models should help the software engineers who use ChatGPT to write or locate the error tracking code, Openai Shaokyi AMdo spokesman at Techcrunch said. GPT-4.1 is superior to coding and the instructions that follow compared to the GPT-4O, according to Openai, but is faster than the order of reasoning models.

The company says it is now unraveling GPT-4.1 to subscribers in Chatgpt Plus, Pro and Team. Meanwhile, Openai releases GPT-4.1 mini free of charge and pay Chatgpt users. As a result of this update, Openai removes the GPT-4.0 mini from Chatgpt for all users, the company notes in GPT-4.1 traffic notes.

Openai started in April of GPT-4.1 and GPT-4.1, but only released models through the API faced by the developer. At that time, the company faced criticism by the AI research community for GPT-4.1 shipping without security report. These researchers claimed that Openai reduced its standards around transparency in AI models. However, Openai then argued that-despite the improved performance and speed of GPT-4.1 compared to the GPT-4O-this model was not a border model and therefore did not require the same safety report that the most capable models were doing.

“GPT-4.1 does not introduce new ways or ways of interacting with the model and does not exceed O3 in intelligence,” Openai’s security header Johannes Heidecke said in a Post in x Wednesday. “This means that security estimates here, though important, are different from border models.”

Now, Openai releases more information about GPT-4.1 and all AI models. Earlier on Wednesday, Openai pledged to publish the results of the AI’s internal security assessments more often as part of an attempt to increase transparency. These results will live in the new Openai security hub, which began on Wednesday.

The release of GPT-4.1 in Chatgpt comes at a time when there is increased attention to AI coding tools. Reportedly the Openai Approaching Windsurf’s $ 3 billion announcementOne of the most popular AI encoding tools on the market. Earlier on Wednesday, Google updated Gemini Chatbot to more easily connect to Github projects.
