Hey early stage founders, listen up! TechCrunch is looking for 200 pioneering startups to participate in the Startup Battlefield 200 at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco this October. Following the successful expansion in 2022, where Startup Battlefield showcased the top 200 companies from around the world, the class of 2023 has raised the bar even higher with entrepreneurs from more than 35 countries, spanning 25 industries and with diverse backgrounds.

The competition is set to be fiercer than ever for the third year running. If your startup is selected from the pool of applications, you will join an elite group with full access to the expo, exclusive workshops, investor office hours, mentoring, training, perks and free exhibition space on the show floor for all three days. All selected founders will also have the opportunity to pitch in front of TechCrunch investors and editors.

Introducing global innovators

From the Startup Battlefield 200, we will select 20 companies for the Startup Battlefield competition. These finalists will receive private coaching to prepare for the spotlight on the main stage at Disrupt, in front of the entire audience, and will be featured on TechCrunch. In addition, founders will pitch to leading global venture firms such as Sequoia, Mayfield, SOSV and others. The final winner will take home $100,000 and the coveted Disrupt Cup.

TechCrunch does not require shares from contestants or winners. Applying and joining is 100% free.

The only way early-stage, pre-Series A startups can get exposure on the Disrupt floor is through the Startup Battlefield, and the only way to become a Startup Battlefield finalist is to be selected for the Startup Battlefield 200.

How to join the TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 200

The process is simple. Just apply here. After completing the initial interest form, you can either proceed with the application or wait for an email from us containing a full preview of the questions.

To be considered, your company should:

  • Be an early stage startup.
  • You have a minimally viable product.
  • Represents each vertical.
  • Represents any geography.
  • Become a game changer in your industry.
  • Be bootstrapped or have upfront funding (varies by industry).
