Spotify says its ability to direct its customers to external payment links to its iOS application already has a positive impact on sales. In a recently deposited short amicus to support Epic Games in its ongoing legal battle with Apple on Outdoor Payments on the App Store, Spotify argues that its internal data shows that recent updating of web payments has resulted in a “significant increase in iOS users upgrading to a Premium subscription”.

Shortly after the US court in northern California, he decided in favor of Fortnite Maker’s Epic games on the issue of foreign payments, Apple was forced to eventually allow app developers to direct their customers to other ways to pay from iOS applications without paying the Apple Committee.

Now, iOS app developers in the US may choose to inform their customers about web billing options and if there is a discount on direct payment.

Spotify was one of the First to update the iOS application to benefit from the new policy. The update explains to customers what the subscriptions cost, shows them on its website for purchase and allows users to buy Audiobooks directly.

The results were largely positive, Spotify wrote in the new deposit.

“The 2025 mandate has created significant benefits for developers and – most important – consumers,” the statements. “Spotify internal data shows that iOS application updates have already led to a significant increase in iOS users upgrading to Premium subscription.

Spotify said the revised “Premium Development Page” in the iOS app tells free users how to upgrade to a paid bid subscription by providing prices information and a link to a checkout page. From the addition of connection and pricing information, Spotify says he has seen the immediate impact of changes.

In the two weeks the new page was alive, Spotify reports that the rate of conversion from Free to Premium Tier remained “relatively stable” in Android, where Spotify has already managed to provide basic pricing information.

Meanwhile, the rate of conversion among iOS users has increased significantly, the company says.

“This strongly suggests that the increase is due to Apple that ultimately complies with the mandate thanks to the 2025 command,” Spotify writes. In addition, the company adds that it is starting to see the results in Audiobook markets just three days after the start of new product options.

Spotify declined to share specific increases related numbers when they were reached for comments.

Shortly unites these from Microsoft Others to support the epic games, as Apple is trying to combat the order that uploaded the US App Store business.

Apple does not want to comply with the court ruling, which is in the attractive process, until all legal issues are fully resolved.

Are also Attempted to keep Epic Games’ Fortnite from the Application Store For the same reason, but the judge pressed Apple to allow the game back to the App Store or return to court to explain why Apple was in non -compliance with the decision.

On Tuesday, Fortnite went live at the US Application Store after a five -year pause.

The case between Apple and Epic is now continuing at the US Court of Appeal for the ninth circuit. Apple has submitted an emergency move to be able to return to its old policy, and its appeal was ongoing. However, the court decided not to give the proposal, saying that the judges’ team would follow the default information program and then rule on the proposal in “due time”.
