The application of social capacity Post She has made two acquisitions last month and change: Thursday, app Cycling Appling Strava In the afternoonAfter acquiring the Run Last month.

Benefits in the Y Combinator class in the summer of 2021, Breakaway uses AI to create personalized training plans for cyclists working for specific goals. Runna, an UK -based app and jamjar, is working, but is built for runners and not for cyclists.

Needless to say, Strava marks a very strong interest in selling training tools to its users.

As one of the the highest and most popular Gym applications, Strava allows users to attend their workouts and design their outdoor paths, but differentiates by adding a social ingredient, allowing users to see where, when and how their friends exercise them (they are as good as you say, doxxing itself).

Among the power users, Strava’s public API has become essential for athletes who want to adapt the way they interact with Strava data – according to Strava’s CEO Michael Martin, there are hundreds of different training applications integrated with Strava.

While applications such as Runna and Breakaway have stood out in Strava for their quality, some users may still prefer another third party application to design exercise routines … and usually athletes non Like when you lose with their routines. But the company has assured users that it has no plans to stop offering an open API.

Strava has not yet clarified exactly how or whether the features from Runna and Breakaway will be integrated into the Strava app. Martin said Runna would remain at least one autonomous application, so it is likely that the fragmentary will follow a similar plan.

“There are so many opportunities to enhance the user’s journey”, Martin said After acquiring Runna. “Think about how runners are planning on Strava routes. Train with Runna and then share again in Strava – we want to reduce friction in this loop.”

It has not yet been determined whether the pricing of these most high quality products will change. Currently, an annual Strava subscription costs about $ 80 per year, while the annual runna and excerpt subscriptions cost about $ 120 and $ 70, respectively. But last month, Martin said there were no plans to change the pricing or to remove access to free versions of these products.
