CCR’s John Fogerty is joking about using chatgpt to create a setlist

Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) singer and leader John Fogerty apparently goes hand in hand with times. During the basic of sxsw On Wednesday in Austin, Texas, the musician was joking for the use of Chatgpt to determine which songs to play for his shows.

In an interview by Tom Morello (Rage against machine and Audioslave), Fogerty was asked how he decided on a list for a given night, such as his SXSW concert the night before.

“I’m just going to Chatgpt or anything else,” Fogerty said, leading the audience to scream with laughter.

He then added that “you are learning a lot trying to be a entertainer”, and said that he just wanted people to have fun at the concert. “I want to participate. I want to sing together.”

The interview also touched the history of the CCR, the rights to publish music and the stories behind some of the band’s songs, among others.

At one point, Fogerty also pointed out how the medium we use to consume music defines how it is presented.

“The songs have always been manifested by the medium in which they are. Then the LP came together and the CDs, which led to people who had albums with much more songs, even 19- or 21-track album. “(He said he didn’t think it was a great idea, for what he was worth, adding that” After six or seven songs, he put it on the next record! “)

Today, the medium we use to consume music is a flow, which means that distribution is somehow more democratic, Morello said, though there is less funnel as thousands of new songs are released daily.

The CCR has over a billion currents, however, which Fogerty said it was “magical and remarkable”.

“If your song is a flow, especially to a large extent, it means that young people hear it, because this is the means: streaming,” he said.
