AuraA digital photo company founded by the first Twitter employees introduces its latest model, Aspenwhich adds new technology to the device and the mobile accompanying application. In addition to hosting your digital photos on the 12 -inch HD screen, the device now allows you to add captions to your photos when they appear in the box. In the meantime, the mobile app has added a search feature of people who facilitates finding the photos you want to display.

Aura was founded by former Twitter officials Abdur Chowdhury and Eric Jensen and his vision was to provide more elegant and upgraded digital contexts for people’s digital photos in their home, combined with a well -designed software platform for managing the content of the frames.

Before Aspen’s launch, Aura offered other frames in different sizes and styles, such as Engraver and the wall mounted Turbulent. Its mobile application has over 6 million users, giving you a sense of the scale of its users.

The company today attracts customers who want to enjoy their digital photos in their homes and share them with friends and family through a private social network where members can contribute their photos to your framework. This can appeal to those looking for ways to connect with people near them outside traditional social media, while wet to larger family members, allowing younger, more technological people to manage the contexts of their seniors on their behalf.

Last year, Aura reports that customers were distributed 784 million photos in their framework, an increase of 55% annually. In addition, private social networks built by sharing photos between families, friends and other guest members helped drive 50% of Aura’s annual sales in 2024.

On any given day, the Aura boxes have cumulative 5 billion photos and videos, the company also noted.

Its newer addition, the $ 229 Aspen Frame, is now the thinnest, at 0.5 inches on the edge. The 1,600 x 1,200 HD anti-glare screen and the 4: 3 dimensional ratio also help to view people’s mobile photos in the best light, calibrated for brightness, contrast and color.

However, one of the other major draws for Aura’s devices is that its frame management software is not a second thought.

The Aura Photo Sharing Walks users application through the Wi-Fi network of their home and quickly adding photos to their frames in just a few steps. The application itself is as well constructed as any social application that you may already use, our tests have been found, providing access to your various frameworks in its left navigation alongside a two -test interface on the main application page to add new photos and manage existing photos to your devices.

Usually, when adding photos to an Aura box, you will browse your camera roll or other photo albums to find your favorites and choose them. But the new appointment feature of the app allows you to simply press a photo of a person whose photos you want to prioritize. These proposed people are now in a row at the top of the “Add photo” screen. (Unfortunately, if you have made ai photos of yourself when playing with other photo applications, they are not excluded – you should do this manually.)

This new search feature is executed locally on users’ devices to protect their privacy, Aura notes.

In addition, users can now add more frames to their photos by entering captions that could contain information such as date, location or other personal notes, which then appear in the box.

The ASPEN frame is available in two colors, ink or clay and includes a metal pavilion, paper with paper, decorative lining and wrapped fabric cable that gives the device more a luxurious feel. Like other Aura frames, it includes other technical features, such as an ambient light sensor that erases your frame at night when your room darkens and a hidden touch line at the top of the frame that allows you to move to your photos and customize your settings without leaving fingerprints on the screen.

The company, backed by $ 60 million in growth funds by the Lago Innovation Fund, was profitable in 2024 and is still increasing.

Correction: The article initially stated that the cost of the frame was $ 299. It is $ 229. The article has been updated.
