Flow service Coach It has long been developed beyond its initial focus of being a home for personal media to offer a more complete solution for discovery, flow and exchange of content to services, including its own free television and movies supported by Plex ads. More recently, the company added social networking features that are today Expansion with the development of New functionality. Specifically, this includes a way to publicly share your Plex profile and tools to let others read the reviews of your television and movies and then comment in return.

Plex introduced social networking for the first time in November 2023 when it began a feature called “Discover Together”, which allowed users to create profiles in the service and then find and follow friends to see what they were watching. (The operation initially received some reaction as Plex users were unhappy About its nature. While it was a turn for the company, offering a more social experience in Plex allows it to compete better not only with other free but also with special social networks for cinematic films and television reviews such as Letterhead and Television timeamong others.

With today’s release, Plex says users will now be able to share a public URL that shows their profile in service watch.plex.tv. By default, users will be found by others in Plex by searching the app unless they have already disabled their settings.

People who see your user profile will be able to see what you are watching, what is on the tracking list and much more. This does not change any of your existing privacy settings, Plex notes.

In addition, Plex users will be able to make their evaluations and reviews visible to other Plex users through a new arrangement. Here, you can choose between allowing anyone to see these reviews or only those connected to Plex. You can also choose that your reviews are visible only to friends or friends friends or you can do all your reviews and reviews private if you want. (By default, both existing and new users will be set to “friends”, Plex confirmed to TechCrunch.)

Along with social networking features, Plex also begins a preview of the new user environment, initially on Apple TV. The redesign includes updated navigation, more personal media adjustment, easier access to, richer experience with more artworks and various social networking features of Plex, says the company communication.

For Power users, PLEX PLEX PASS Subscribers (Paid Users) will gain access to HEVC hardware coding for better video quality, while saving a bandwidth. This option was previously in preview mode with selected users, but is now available to all subscribers.
