MISFITS MARKETThe online platform that delivers incomplete grocery items to help minimize waste, announced the acquisition of household renewal service The rounds Friday.

As a result of the agreement, the MISFITS Market plans to undertake more than 250 elements from the stock of the rounds. This allows the company to diversify additional categories, such as household items, including cleaning supplies and paper products.

In an effort to transfer customers to the MISFITS market, the company offers $ 30, along with a free one -year subscription to the new MISFITS+participation, which includes exclusive weekly deals and free shipping.

The company refused to disclose the terms of the agreement. Also, it could not confirm whether the redundancies would be part of the acquisition, as decisions are still completed. The rounds increased a total of $ 66 million from investors such as Andrew Chen (Andreessen Horowitz), Annie Kadavy (Redpoint Ventures), Construct Capital and First Round Capital.

Along with the diversification of its bids, the deal will allow the MISFITS market to work with former partners from the rounds, including large apartment buildings such as Avalonbay, Greystar and related.

The MISFITS Market also aims to get a stronger basis in the industry as a result of the agreement. Specifically, the company will continue to seek mergers and acquisitions as part of a broader strategy of growth, especially at a time when consumer awareness of food waste and sustainability is increasing.

“This market is mature for integration and we are constantly considering the agreements,” said MISFITS CEO Abhi Ramesh in TechCrunch.

This marks the second acquisition of MISFITS Market, after the purchase of unbeatable food in 2022, another competitor on the market.

Founded in 2018, MISFITS Market offers products rejected by farmers and suppliers to be considered too “ugly” to sell to grocery stores, often because it is very small, strangely shaped or discolored.

The rounds, meanwhile, have offered the 2019 Sustainable Grocery Office service that refill the Essentials home using a reusable packaging.

To date, MISFITS MARKET has rescued more than £ 238 million, according to the company. The rounds have saved more than 1 million pounds of packing waste and estimates to save an average of 500,000 pounds of food each week.
