Raising your first round requires artistic finesse, because the last thing you want to do, years from now, is look back and regret the terms, conditions or side letters.

It’s a serious topic, and that’s why we’re excited to announce that Tom Blomfield, Group Partner at Y Combinator, will be joining us at TC Early Stage for a session titled “How to Raise Money and Get Out Alive.”

This may sound a bit dramatic, but there may be days when fundraising feels like it’s getting old — so arm yourself with solid, up-to-date information. During this session, Blomfield will talk about how investors think, common tastes that can haunt you, and how to put your company in the strongest possible position for growth.

Meet Tom Blomfield: Group partner at Y Combinator

Before joining Y Combinator, Tom Blomfield, a British entrepreneur, founded two companies valued at over $1 billion. Co-founder of Monzo, one of the UK’s first app-based challenger banks, which has raised more than £500m and counts 10% of the UK population as customers.

He also previously founded GoCardless, an online payment processor for the direct debit system.
