Following the WWDC 2025 event, Apple described the upcoming update of iPados 26 as “The greatest circulation of ipados ever. “This does not seem to be just a self-aggressive exaggeration-the iPados 26 could really change the way we think of the utility of a 15-year-old product that has long felt like an oversized iPhone designed for a cyclops.

The new operating system brings us multiple task tools, a new window system and the application of previewing, which may not sound as tempting as “wet glass”. But if you’ve ever tried to have a productive working day via iPad then these news is more exciting than Sabrina Carpenter’s new album Announcement (and this is not just because her new song was somehow).

As is the case now, you can only have Two windows open at the same time In the iPad and navigation between the two windows is a kind of nightmare. If you are trying to write an email while also looking at your calendar to confirm that you are giving your colleague a good time to call you, then you will probably turn on the two front and rear windows, struggling to see all the relevant information. It’s a mess and a great reason why I never work on my iPad (despite the fact that I spent over $ 100 on Logitech’s detachable keyboard …)

If I have to mention any sources during the writing process – whether it is a press release, interview notes, e -mail, research paper or, God forbid, all of the above – then I could just pull my phone as a second tiny screen. Let’s just say it’s not the most user -friendly experience.

With the new windows on the iPados 26, you can see all your open windows at the same time, then, the intuitive tiles to help you help you help you. These window controls are also compatible with Stage managerthat allows you to organize your windows in specific environments. As a result, the ipados is Removal of older multi -task characteristics, Divide the view and drag.

Meanwhile, the new iPad preview application makes it possible to process and display PDFS inherently, including features such as Autofill and Apple Pencil compatibility.

Like Mac products, iPad applications will now receive a menu line, which facilitates the detection of specific commands or features in an application. Developers also have access to the menu line adjustment to their own applications.

And if you often work with folders, you can place them on your dock instead of navigating a clunky files application.

There is more about the new operating system than these quality of life characteristics (which, sincerely, could be sent a while ago). Given the Apple silicon computing power, the iPados 26 can perform high -intensity background work, such as exporting a video, allowing you to continue working while waiting to complete the export.

The iPad will be useful, in particular, in podcasters, video editors, content creators or who works in multimedia. In another new feature – which should not feel as novel and – you can choose a specific audio input for any application or site.

Even better, the iPad gets a local capture mode, which allows you to record video calls from any conferences application and then access audio and video files afterwards.

The iPad may not match a MacBook when it comes to overall utility. But perhaps, supposedlyThe laptop issued by your company is 16 “MacBook Pro that weighs almost five pounds and is too big to use on a plane or train without discomfort (please go and play the smallest violin in the world). News breaks.

In this case, the ability to fit around an iPad and still work will be a game change player – and a relief for back pain.
