Igor Babuschkin, co -founder of Elon Musk’s XAI start -up, announced his departure from the company on Wednesday in a Post in x. Babuschkin led mechanical teams to XAI and helped build the start to one of Silicon Valley’s leading AI model developers just a few years after its founding.

“Today was my last day at Xai, the company I helped start with Elon Musk in 2023,” Babuschkin wrote in place. “I still remember the day I first met Elon. We talked for hours about AI and what could the future keep.

Today was my last day at Xai, the company I helped start with Elon Musk in 2023. I still remember the day I first met Elon, we talked for hours about AI and what could the future hold. We both felt that a new AI company with a different kind of mission was needed.

Building…

Babuschkin leaves XAI to launch his own business capital business, Babuschkin Ventures, which says he will support the security research of AI and the newly established businesses that “promote humanity and unlock the mysteries of our universe”.

XAI’s co -founder says he was inspired to start the business after a dinner with Max Tegmark, the founder of the Future of Life Institute, in which they discussed how AI systems could be safely manufactured to encourage future generations. In his place, Babuschkin says his parents migrated to the US from Russia to pursue a better life for their children.

Babuschkin’s departure comes after a noisy few months for XAI, in which the company was enriched in various scandals associated with AI Chatbot Grok. For example, Grok was found to mention Musk’s personal views when he tried to answer controversial questions. In another case, Xai’s chatbot went to anti -Semitic thunderstorms and was called “mechahitler”. More recently, Xai presented a new feature in Grok that allowed users to make videos created by AI that look like bare public elementsLike Taylor Swift.

These scandals have sometimes overshadowed the performance of XAI models, which are state-of-the-art in various reference points compared to AI models from Openai, Google Deepmind and Anthropic.

Prior to Co -Founder XAI, Babuschkin was part of a Google Deepmind research team leading to Alphastar in 2019, an important AI system that could beat players with top rankings in the Video Game Starcraft. Babuschkin also worked as a researcher at Openai in the years before the release of Chatgpt.

In his place, Babuschkin mentions some of the challenges he and Musk have faced Xai’s building. He notes that industry veterans called XAI’s goal of building Memphis, the Tennessee supercomputer in just three months “impossible”.

Xai was able to build AI supercomputer in record time, however Warn environmentalists that temporary gases that feed the complex draw on emissions to neighboring communities and exacerbate their long -term health issues.

However, Babuschkin says he is already looking back on Xai and “feels like a proud parent, moving away after their child’s mission to college”.

“I learned 2 invaluable lessons from Elon: #1 Be fearless to roll your sleeves to dig into personal problems.
